  • Voltage reducer for lipo packs.

    Again getting nowhere with research on this. I want to power some on board leds in my airplane. They take a 1.5 volts to operate. I'm scared that the bec (5 volts) would eveventually over heat them. No? Does anyone know of a voltage reducer of 1.5 volts that I could solder in line with the lipo pack? Or is there even such a thing. Thanks in advance.

    I can tell you that if you plug in a typical hobby LED light into an external BEC that puts out 5 - 6 volts, the light will burn out very quickly if not immediately. It would be the same as plugging the light directly into a RX that is powered by the same sort of BEC. Some will even burn out if the polarity is wrong. Your best option would be to get an LED light controller like one of these:
