  • Setting up Spektrum AR8010T Rx -- questions about remote/satellite

Until now, all of my planes have been 6 channel or less and happy with AR610s. I recently got a couple of new Spektrum AR8010T receivers and found the manual to be less than helpful. I have never had to set up an Rx with a remote.

    1) The Rx itself has three ports just to the side of the bind button. The labeling says REMOTE RX and then the ports are labeled B, L and R.

I assume this is where the small remote (two small antennas, and twisted cable connection) plugs in -- correct? And will any of the three ports work, or is one better than the others if using just one remote? What does the B, L and R stand for?

    2) There is a second antenna -- plug on one end, and exposed tinned ends on the other end of the two wires. Is this for Carbon Fiber fuselage models? Is there any need or advantage to this in a foam or balsa model?

I understand the general idea of mounting the satellite Rx away from the main unit and to get the antennas at different angles.

    Thanks in advance!
