  • Transmitter vs EDF question?

Hey guys. I just ordered the 70mm Freewing T1 Hawk. I am using my old trusty Futaba 7CAP 1024-PCM Tx. Do any of you know of any potential issues I might encounter with this EDF and radio combo?

I don't see any correlation between the type of TX and flying an EDF with it.

I was told of a guy who was running an old FM Tx with an EDF and had some interference issues. I wasn't sure about the old PCM's if they too could have any issues with the ESC's or not. Better safe than sorry.

So, is this guy concerned about electrics in general or just EDFs, which is what your initial question was about? You should get whoever told you this what the exact details are. An EDF motor is just another outrunner motor with a smaller mult-bladed propeller on it. They may spin a little fast but I've seen prop motors spin that fast. The ESCs also are a little bigger but prop jobs can have ESCs that big, too.
If your question is about going from gas to electric, then there may be something to it.
