    Spektrum IX14 Channel Assignments

So Im pretty new to spektrum gear and Im having a bit of trouble figuring something out, hopefully someone can help me out here. I have an e-flite Viper 90mm edf jet and Im trying to do a fpv on it. So Im using the stock RX the AR637TA, but I need more channels. So I added and bound a AR8000 RX and was able to get channels 7 and 8 to see the gimbal servos, but I need another channel for the switch so I can turn the unit off after landing or for any other reason that may require it. I can not seem to figure out how to setup the channel to do this. I know this is probably a real rookie thing, but none the less… I will eat my pride and ask for help. ;)

    Here is the setup:

The camera gimbal unit is the Motionsic Bag which you can see HERE

The camera is DJI 03 Air Unit see it HERE

The head tracker is Motionsic Tally-ho Prebuilt Head-tracker see it HERE

The electronic gear Im using is in the pic below and I chose option 2/ Air Unit open to free air. I did also get the Matek Ubec and fan in option 1 just in case I want to put the canopy back on, but I thought I would try and keep this as simple as possible to start with. In the TX I set switch F to use AUX 4, but doesn’t work obviously because Im a retard and cant figure out why. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    AUX4 is channel 9. Your AR8000 doesn't have 9 channels.

Also the AR8000 is an old and discontinued receiver which has been counterfeited, so if you bought it recently it is probably a fake.

You'd be better off with an AR10100T or AR10360T, both of which have 10 channels and telemetry, and are in production.

Well dang. I thought by adding the AR8000 with the AR637 would give me more channels, guess it doesn't work that way. Ah well. Also I know the 8000 is the real deal because I bought it from Horizon Hobby about 3 or 4 years ago and it worked great. I think Im going to swap out the spektrum stuff and run my Jeti gear.

Thank you for the advice, appreciate it.

You can't use one Spektrum receiver as a channel expander for another.

You can get channel expanders such as this for the AR8000 (won't work with thw AR637T): https://www.spektrumrc.com/product/x...PMXP8000.html#
It plugs into the SRXL port.

AR8000 was discontinued much longer than 4 years ago.

You can also get a channel expander for the AR637T from https://www.rclightsystems.com/produ...erial-expander

Or you can make your own, like I did. https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...1&d=1609519460

Your first post suggested you needed 9 channels.

Try to be consistent when people are trying to help you.

So, ditch the 637 and replace with one of the mentioned AR10's you listed and be done with it?

Why not just add a channel expander to the 637T you already have?

Features 4 output channels 4.8 – 8.4V Multi-protocol Auto channel detection Additional power connector
