  • Spend $150 for me on a charger setup

So I am getting back into this hobby after a 19-year hiatus, during which apparently chargers have become a thing.

My budget for charging setup is $150. I have a Timber X with 2x 4S Spektrum Smart LiPo batteries on the way. I will have 12V DC hookup at the field.

So within that budget, what specific combo of home and field charger setup would you get if you were new to this and knew you had a 12V DC hookup at the field?

So within a $150 budget, what specific combo of home and field charger setup would you get if you were new to this and knew you had a 12V DC hookup at the field? Assume no brand loyalty or previous experience with electric RC. At first glance, it looks to me like I'd be OK with a Smart S1200 DC 1x200W charger ($65) + Smart 16A 380W power supply ($80), but I also don't know what I am doing, so definitely want to hear if there is a better value out there. Remember, $150 budget :)

    Thanks everyone!

    PS - what's my budget?
