Trying to bind a Spektrum DX8 gen 1 to an Apprentice S 15E. It will only bind in Safe (beginner) and will not bind in intermediate or expert mode and then it will only fly in safe (beginner) mode. No matter where your switches are it will not come out of safe mode. How do I make it where it will bind and work in all three modes, Safe, intermediate and expert?

Some of these pre-installed receivers with different modes, depending on how you bind it, have been known to be difficult to bind the way you want. I've seen 3 identical Timbers, one took 15 tries before it would bind the way the owner wanted while the other 2 worked the first time. Same for an Apprentice that never bound as desired. All that can be advised is to read the instructions very carefully and make sure all the switches and necessary steps are as they should be. Also make sure that you are at least 10 feet away from the plane with the transmitter. Some of these receivers will not bind if the transmitter is too close. -
Safe is on channel 5. If you look at the monitor screen on your radio is there movement of the bar graph? Also you need to assign it to a 3 position switch to get beginner intermediate advanced.
