  • Throttle cut problem dx8 and spectrum 6000 receiver

After reversing the throttle servo on the radio the throttle cut goes to full throttle instead

  • #2
IF your model requires that the throttle be reversed (for whatever reason, although this is odd and likely has little to do with the fact that it's a "6000" RX), You need to do something in the "Throttle Cut" menu. You will see that the switch position "highlight" needs to be changed. IE, if one position is highlighted, you must UN-highlight it and highlight the other position. I think that will make it work the way it should. Always confirm by looking at the "monitor" to see what the throttle stick does and what the Throttle Cut does when you throw it.

      Thanks for the comeback,
page 12 of the spectrum manual states that the preset fail safe only applies to the AR 8000 receiver and to consult the receiver info for others.
but I can’t find out anything on how to fix the problem when using a 6 channel 6000 , other than trying to reposition and turn the servo.

The old AR6000 was an original DSM RX introduced with the original very first DX6, from about 2006. This was pre-DSM2 and pre-DSMX. I believe what Xviper said will fix your issue.

The only reason I can think of to reverse the throttle is the need to arrange a throttle servo for a glow motor.

A “pre-set failsafe” in any RX that has that feature is simply to reduce the throttle to zero or to whatever you want to set it at, depending on the brand and type of RX. You are talking about “Throttle Cut”, which is not really related to a RX’s failsafe. Where the “failsafe” function is a RX attribute, “Throttle Cut” is a TX attribute.
PS. Are you dealing with a liquid fuel powered plane? In that case, then yes, you have a servo that might be able to be “turned”, but then, throttle cut is something to do with the TX. An electric motor driven plane doesn’t use a throttle servo, only an ESC.

Bind the RX again with the throttle in the correct position.

This is the default failsafe for Spektrum.. whatever the stick positions are at binding.

(Its only been like this since the first DSM radios by Spektrum)

Some newer (DSM2 and later) RXs have additional failsafe settings. See your RX's manual.

            *****************************

The default throttle direction for Spekrum/JR and many others is reversed from the default for Futaba and a few others.
This is a legacy effect of the + shift vs - shift of the different brands when they used 72 mhz or other AM/FM bands

Most ESCs default to the JR/Spektrum throttle direction Some ESCs (Rimfire) default to the Futaba direction.

Some ESCs can have the throttle response programmed to match the TX's default, most can not.

Again... see the manual for your equipment.
