  • Admiral RX + Gecko ESC = surging right after take off

Last night I had something very strange happen that crashed my plane. Immediately after take off the motor started to "surge". My eflite planes do this as a warning when the battery gets low, but this was a fully charged battery and when I checked it after the crash it was still full. (Plus, if you reduce throttle the surging stops so you can land.)
Not the case here, the surging continued and the model came down "right now" into some power lines.

I had just installed the oem version of the Admiral RX700T 6/7-Channel DSMX Compatible Telemetry Receiver with 60A XT60 Current Sensor in the plane.

The only thing I can think of is the rx lost signal for a second and the failsafe went into default "no pulse mode" which then wacked out the Gecco ESC and made it start surging
However, the gecco esc doesn't have a "surge mode" does it? I see nothing about such a thing in the manual.

I dont want to fix the plane and fly again until I figure out what happened.

Thanks in advance for the help!
