Has anyone experimented with making (modifying) a transmitter where the two X-Y axis standard joysticks are replaced with a single Y-axis joystick mounted in a rotating hub/knob and that hub/knob is connected to the X-axis? (See drawing.) This way, the boat is steered by rotating the hub/knob which turns the z-dive. Hopefully this would turn the z-drive continuously in either direction. The Y-axis would run the motor from off up to full speed (no reverse). This would mimic the real towboat I want to build because the propeller rotates in only one direction, so to reverse direction the hub/knob would turn 180 degrees. Of course the hub/know would have to be synced to the hub/knob so when looking at the transmitter one would know which direction the z-drive is setting.
