  • Mini Ultra Stick

I purchased an Ultra Stick and it has a plastic skag as a tail wheel and I understand that it is very difficult to control the plane on the ground. I would like to add a tail wheel to the rudder, but you cannot do it in its current configuration. I understand people have added a tail wheel for steering and I would like to know how they accomplished the task. Can you add a free wheeling tail wheel in place of one being added to the rudder or do I have to add a servo to control the tail wheel? I am open to anyone who has made the modification and how did they do it?

Thanks for the information, I ordered the small tail wheel and I will piggyback the existing rudder control horn by putting one on the opposite side of the vertical stabilizer.

I purchased the micro tail wheel from DuBro as recommended above and I found the easiest way to have a steerable tail wheel is to add a micro servo to the bottom of the fusealodge and add a y connector to that servo and your rudder servo. Then just match up the servo direction on both servos. With out the y connector you can program both servos using your transmitter, but I took the easy way out.
