Thanks, I've been working on it for two years filling low spots and sowing grass...I can fly about anything on it now.

        • Thats a very nice strip you got there TI, very envious indeed, and of the weather!!! I'm out flying today but expecting a murky grey sky rather than a beautiful blue.....

          • If you aren't jealous of TI's strip then you just aren't paying attention. LOL

                  • Pretty decent day here in Wy!
51 and a bit of cross wind, so off to the field I go.
Got BBD and the Avanti up for a couple of flights, so much fun. The first flight with the new motor and prop shaft on the Mustang and she also has new landing gear, flew great as usual, it's hard to believe she was the first R/C plane I ever bought. As related before, she sat in the basement for a couple of years while I learned to fly on the Pandoras. Well worth the wait as she's such a dream to fly, she's one of those that literally kisses the runway when landing. For those who don't know BBD, she's Big Beautiful Doll, FMS 1400 mm P-51D, with a 650kv, 85A ESC and the zip tie mod. I'd highly recommend her as a first warbird if your skill set is strong.
The Avanti is also a first, being she's the first and only jet I own and what a great plane for a first jet, the dang thing is so easy to fly it's almost anticlimactic. Absolutely no vices and that landing gear!!!!
The only thing I have to remember is to keep the nose up while landing, and she settles in nicely.

That's two more with their first flights of the year, will see what tomorrow brings!!

                                  • Needed some wheel chocks - was flying the Cub and gust started blowing the remainder of the fleet into stationary fixtures.
                                    Ouch - hangar rash!
But I did fly until I had no batteries, from about noon until 6 PM and had the field totally to myself - not another plane or pilot in sight!

                                    • Took the PT-17 (Woodstock) down to the local grassy knoll for his maiden voyage this morning. What a sweet bird! Makes this newbie feel like bumping up to advanced pilot!!
In my excitement, I forgot to get a pic until returning to my hanger... err garage. :bluehappy
