George once thought like that too. Then he succumbed to my evil plot to rule the world. LOL

            • Here is what caught my eye about Operation paperclip... three men..

              1. Siegfried Knemeyer - Part of the Horton Brothers team..
              2. Alexander Martin Lippisch - Father of Delta wings - also ME-163 Komet
3.Woldemar Voigt (designer of Messerschmitt P.1101)

So this gets interesting as I dig deeper... Oh man this is driving me bonkers - I wonder if Freewing is doing the ME-163 since Durafly stop production of theirs?

              • I love the guessing game even though im zero for four. I think from one of alphas 1st podcast (rc afterhours) he said a horten 229 was a rejected idea. I going with an 70/80mm f 106. Lippisch's delta work. 106 long service life. Much more of a success than the 102. As for a 64mm i dont think so because its not a high or mid wing. Alpha said they like high/mid wing 64s so you have something to hold. I also remember the next 64mm was going to be european. A B58 would be incredible but doesnt seem at all likely. But please o lord...let it be a hustler.

                  • The German aircraft engineers certainly had some innovative designs. I'm sure it will be a rarely, if ever modeled aircraft. As long as it flys good and looks cool, bring it on:Cool:. I for one like unusual axis birds.

                      • Id love a big bronco too, and F100 (70-80mm).. Im curious what this could be, I have my doubts about a flying wing like the horton, I think there is a reason people arent doing planes like that (stability)

                        • OK guys. Here is a Lippisch design from 1942 that is NOT an EDF but is a very interesting design and it flies great. I built a rubber powered model of this and it flew fine. would be interesting, flying wing, twin, push-pull. WHO KNOWS!!!!!! I'm in.......

CFIT ROB - not sure if you are correct but the list of men involved is the hint I'm sure, any way we go I believe we will be happy- but I would be happier if it's a HO-229..but to see the first two on the list makes me think we might get a F-102/F106 and maybe a F4D Skyray- a longer shot a P-1101 or ME-163 Komet- but I still hold out for the HO-229..

NICE!! - - Could be on the limb for this one - DO-335- but I am still sticking to flying wing or Delta wing...but DO-335 would be interesting but not part of Project Paperclip
