Hi mark, I am going to place an order with you, hopefully around 3/23/13. I am defiinitly going to get the Arttech Sbach, w / extras... My question to you is,- ''doe's this plane really need the 4-S 2500ma pack'', or would your, 4-S 2200ma pack be ok also. I also noticed that the dimensions between the 2, are quite different... The 2200 is alot higher, '''will it fit''??? I know of planes out there, that are a shade bigger, and spin bigger props, and have higher amp ESC'S,that are spec rated for a 2200ma 4S.. Is this plane slightly tail heavy,or nose heavy??? My reserch on Sbach's, has them generally a little bit tail heavy. That will be a big factor in my battery decision.... I am all about saving weight, and can live with a couple of minutes, of less flight time.... ''Thanks''..<smiley image="anim_handshake.gif"/>

    Re: Art-Tech Sbach

As long as you can achieve proper CG you can use a battery that is slightly larger or slightly smaller than the batteries specified by the manufacturer. Tom here at MotionRC has flown the Art-Tech Sbach with a 3000mAh battery and it was still plenty fast. I think a 2200mAh will be fine, it will fit no problem. It is a bit lighter then the spec battery but that should give you a better power to weight ratio. As you mentioned below, the only downside is flight duration. So yes, you should be ok with the 2200mAh battery, just check CG.
This plane is very slightly tail heavy, which is extremely common for 3D / Aerobatic planes. If you want it more balanced you will need to play with the battery position and CG.

    Hope this helps,
    Mark

Hi Mark, I have another question about the Arttech Sbach...I noticed that the prototype versions had the elev./rudder servos at the back of the fuse..''Do you know why they changed these, to the middle inside of the fuse???'' Could it have been due to CG issues??? Iam a believer that, ''less linkage is better''. Thanks,I74<smiley image="anim_handshake.gif"/>

Yes, the servos were relocated to achieve better CG with different battery options. I agree about less linkage is better, but a proper CG can make or break a plane. No pun intended.

The video is in production currently and should be available in about 3 days.
Regarding the Military discount (Patriot5), we had to disable it because people were posting it online and non-active duty military personnel were using the code. Sorry for the inconvenience.

              5 Cell?

Will a 2200mah 5 cell work in this or will the amps/ weight be to much stock? Just ordered one, can't wait to get her in the air!
