Cicular board rc plane

Can a circular rc plane design will work and fly ..I had seen the same at wedding the plane was circular and there were leds attached to the bottom of plane in the arrangement of a name...and it was flying above the guests....
how can I make the same one..will it work?

It's called a "Nutball". Flitetest sells one but you can look at their design and scale up to as big as you like. They even have YouTube videos of them flying and one showing how to make one.
