Yes! New wings can be retrofitted according to Wes on the videoOriginally posted by freakbrother View PostWhy a V2 so soon after the initial release? Meanwhile the 2015 version of the 80mm, which could really do with a makeover, continues.
Does the new wing fix the tip-stall issue? If so, can it be retrofitted to the V1?

The mold prices on the 80mm are astronomical. Trust me, it's not like Freewing doesn't want to release an updated 80mm version. Personally, as much as I would want a 80mm with all these upgrades and latest tech, I am happy they are at least offering something that still gives you similar presence with a less-taxing wing load and more aerodynamic wing. I want one!My YouTube RC videos:

How about a nice 80mm Hawker Hunter, then?Originally posted by Aros View PostThe mold prices on the 80mm are astronomical. It shouldn't matter what RX you use so long as it has enough channels to do what you want. Since you only have an NX8, you are restricted to 8 channels*. You'll have to decide what you can do without - reverse or gyro mode. If your RX has a built in gyro, you need to choose whether you want the RX's gyro or the stock Freewing gyro. Whichever one you don't want, go into the programming and set all the gains to ZERO. Personally, I would prefer to keep the stock gyro as it's already programmed to fly the plane as it was meant to.Originally posted by Tcwoodie View PostSo I want to use my nx8 so what receiver are you using with there gyro, or pulling it and going with a spektrum receiver.
* If you really want to do everything you can do with this plane, you can do so by going with Spektrum smart RX, Spektrum smart ESCs. Then things get a bit more complicated. Are you good with Spektrum stuff and a bit more of "complicated"?

Not true. The NX8 can send up to 20 channels if it has been updated to firmware V4.00 or later (2024-May-08). You run out of switches and knobs before you run out of channels.Originally posted by xviper View PostIt shouldn't matter what RX you use so long as it has enough channels to do what you want. I believe it is TRUE, because my statement had a caveat ----- (please read what I put a * in front of) That caveat being that he MUST also use a Spektrum smart RX. If he used a Spektrum compatible RX like, as an eg., a Lemon RX, those remaining 20 channels do nothing. Additionally, if he does NOT have Spektrum smart ESCs, those ESCs won't understand what the RX is trying to tell them, no matter how many of those extra channels are used. A non-Spektrum smart ESC will still need to be hardwired into an unused port.Originally posted by kallend View Post

Aside from what I said in post #176, you would need a 9 or 10 channel receiver. Only then would you have the port to plug that gyro mode lead or reverse lead into. Or, as I said before, if you are using only an 8-ch RX, you must eliminate one or the other (gyro mode or reverse).Originally posted by Tcwoodie View PostSo I want to use my nx8 so what reciver are you using with there gyro, or pulling it and going with a spektrum receiver.
Sorry, I keep not answering your question. I use a Lemon 10-ch with satellite, with the gyro NOT activated and keep the stock gyro. You can also use a Spektrum 10-ch RX, again don’t activate the gyro if it has one and go with the stock one. Your NX8 will work either of these.
