Pretty hopeless amounts of slop indeed.

Make sure to upgrade linkages. If that doesn't help, upgrading to better servos is called for (good cautionary measure in any case, with the added benefit of better elevator feel, and less chance of oscillation)

It seems all the "spare parts" are in stock. It might be possible to Frankenstein one together, but would probably cost a lot more....?

Love that triple ejector rack! Word to the wise, as I have a similar ordnance loadout, be prepared to carry a lot more throttle vs flying her clean.

Clears out the NATO forces on a low pass though ;)

There must be an echo in this forum. Didn't I just say that ??

That is indeed quite possible that you did. I do not have the time to ensure no one else having said something similar to what I write.

I would hope that the long hiatus indicates that Freewing is addressing the issues that have been identified with this model, and that the next batch will have remediated them.

Pure speculation on my part, of course.

Get a Sukhoi instead. Did you check this out? The MiG can't do this stuff.

No interest in the Su35. I'll keep impatiently waiting on the Mig.

Not yet, but with some minor modifications, the MiG is partially getting there...

                                  • Interesting Mig 29 encounter with an F-15 in January of 1991 during Desert Storm (at least I thought it was) that may also have a correlation to the MRC Mig (although you be the judge of that).

Colonel Cesar Rodriguez (one of 3 pilots that almost became an Ace in that war) was escorting some bombing raids into Fallujah when after the successful mission was over, 2 radar blips came up that he and his wingman believed to be Iraqi Mig 29's. They decided to go after them, where upon the Migs immediately turned away towards Bagdad and Col Rodriquez and his wingman continued to pursue them in that direction. They soon realized it was a trap and the 2 Migs were leading them into heavy Iraqi SAM positions. Just then, a 3rd Mig 29 showed up on their radar behind them and they then knew this was a major trap. Rodriguez was seconds away from being "locked up" by the 3rd Mig coming up his rear, so he rolled over and dove for the deck hoping the Mig 29's radar would have trouble locking on to him with the ground as a backdrop since the Mig's radar worked well with an open blue sky in front of it, but with the ground as a backdrop it had a tendency to loose a target.

Fortunately, Col Rodriguez's wingman, who was 3 miles away, was able to move in and lock onto the pursuing Mig and down it with his Sidewinder, "Splash One". Col Rodriguez could have turned back and returned to base, but decided to go after the first two Migs instead, HooYah, definitely a fighter pilots mentality. He eventually got into a spiraling dogfight with one of the Migs as they chased each others tail, and just about the time Col Rodriguez was getting close to either using his guns or a missile, the Iraqi Mig 29 Pilot must have realized he was about to be dead meat so he rolled over and dove for the deck, also hoping to confuse the F-15's radar. (this is the part that sounds like the MRC Mig) The Mig pilot soon realized he was going to have a hell of time bringing the nose up and with full afterburners glowing, Col Rodriguez watched him fight to level the Mig, but he augured into the desert!

So it looks like the MRC Mig and the real thing may have something in common, although I don't think the Iraqi Mig had full flaps deployed, upgraded servos, ferrite chokes, beefed up control rods or any of the other things we are using to hopefully prevent it from becoming a lawn dart. So you be the judge, is this art imitating true life?

                                    • The German Luftwaffe Jagdgeschwader JG73 “Steinhoff” aggressor training squadron had a pretty good record in engagements - it all comes down to the skill of the pilot.

Conceived to fill the technological gap between Russian and U.S. fighters, the MiG-29 has been one of the last cutting edge fighters produced by the then

See comments by then-Oberstleutenant (the Luftwaffe rank equal to Lieutenant Colonel) Johann Koeck who, after flying the F-4 Phantom, became commander of the only Luftwaffe MiG-29 squadron.

                                      • Find this very fine plastic net, cut it, spray it and installed. Not a super scale dettail but give little deep on the visual and costed pennys !
as far the pilot mirrors .. they look much better once canopy back in postion.
nothing crazy, just little fun , for me.
Callie’s decals in order, another few weeks for those ..
adding the URSS under the belly to give little more orientation once in the air.

Interesting ideas, it is looking good. I was curious about your decals. In English (at least in USA) we always called it USSR. But in French, Italian, and many other languages it is URSS due to different word order. And a lot of us are old enough to remember the Russians themselves always wrote CCCP. I can't read Russian, but looked it up and it is:

                                          Союз Советских Социалистических Республик

...as you can see in this typical photo from the era
