TBM Avenger “VT-84” 850mm (33.4”) Wingspan Warbird with Retracts - PNP from Skynetic – SKY1072-001

The TBM Avenger was one of the most formidable carrier-based aircraft of World War II. Designed as a rugged torpedo bomber for the U.S. Navy, the Avenger combined long range, heavy payload capability, and exceptional durability. Its powerful radial engine, broad wings, and distinctive greenhouse canopy create a bold silhouette that remains instantly recognizable among warbird enthusiasts.

The Skynetic TBM Avenger “VT-84” 850mm (33.4”) wingspan Warbird PNP captures that unmistakable presence in a compact model that delivers far more capability than typically found in this size class. Leading the list are fully electric retractable landing gear, along with authentic scale markings and colors, crisp molded detail, and accurate proportions. The result is a model that looks every bit the part both on the ground and in the air.

While most compact foam warbirds rely on fixed landing gear, the Avenger features fully electric retracts, a capability rarely found in warbirds of this size. The retracts allow the aircraft to transition from a confident runway stance to a clean, scale profile once airborne, dramatically enhancing both realism and the overall flying experience.

Built from durable lightweight EPO foam, the Skynetic Avenger combines strength with a low flying weight for excellent performance across a wide speed range. Its refined aerodynamic design allows the model to feel lively and quick in the air while remaining stable and comfortable at slower speeds for smooth approaches and landings. Detachable wings simplify assembly and transport, while precise ball-link control connections provide smooth and accurate control response. Together with its retractable landing gear and detailed scale finish, the result is a compact warbird that delivers the realism, features, and flight performance normally associated with much larger aircraft.
    Compact Warbird, Real Retracts!

The Skynetic Avenger stands apart with electric retractable landing gear, a feature rarely found in warbirds of this size. Watch the aircraft transition from a confident runway stance to a clean scale profile in flight—dramatically enhancing realism and delivering the look and experience of a much larger warbird.
Avenger Heritage in True Warbird Colors

Finished in authentic U.S. Navy VT-84 markings, the Avenger captures the unmistakable look of this legendary torpedo bomber. Crisp molded surface detail and accurate markings give the aircraft impressive scale presence both on the ground and in the air.
    Fast, Smooth, and Confidence-Inspiring

The Avenger’s carefully designed wing allows it to fly with energy and speed while remaining stable and predictable at slower speeds. The result is a warbird that feels exciting in the air while still delivering smooth, confident approaches and landings.
The Avenger Look — Done Right

With its broad wings, radial engine nose, and iconic greenhouse canopy, this model captures the unmistakable silhouette of the legendary TBM Avenger. Even at 850mm, it carries the presence of a much larger warbird in the sky.
Scale Details That Bring It to Life

A detailed cockpit with pilot figure, scale ball turret, and authentic three-blade propeller add another level of realism. These features help capture the unmistakable character of the TBM Avenger both on the ground and in flight.
    Built for the Warbird Experience

From retractable landing gear to balanced flight performance, the Avenger delivers the feel of a true warbird in a compact package. It’s a model designed to provide the realism, performance, and presence normally associated with much larger aircraft.

Weird. About a week ago was watching some footage featuring a TBM and thought would be cool to have one. Voila! Anxious for this one. Scale comes out to roughly 1/19.5, wish still had all those 1/18 21st Century Toys Ultimate Soldier WW2 pilots to include the Avenger crew. Had some alien figs that came with the Flight 19 planes too. Sold all of them about 15 yrs ago. Heavy, wouldn't use entire pilot, save for display but the heads n'shoulders would make for a pilot upgrade maybe.. Thinking scale would be negligible.

Having been burned by skynetic planes in the past, I’ll be passing on this one. However kudos to motion for bringing different aircraft to the hanger.

If Flightline were to make a 1600mm version, I’d be first in line to get one.

Received on Friday. A dab of glue and two screws and all assembled. I have some minor complaints. Recever installation: There is hardly any room ! After contacting support I was directed to a video with a short section showing Motion tester's installation. Wing servo leads: The leads must be inserted through undocumented rectangular holes in the fuselage wing roots. Servo leads: The rudder and elevator leads are too short to reach the receiver as shown in the video (I added two short extensions, AND the supplied "Y" cables for gear and aileron could be shorter to make the installation much more neat. Paint Quality: Minor contact with wires, fingers and whatever easily scratch the paint surface exposing white foam. I have not flown yet, but it LOOKS great. I used a Spektrum AR631 receiver and coated the painted surfaces with Minwax water based clear acrylic.

Receiver install is certainly tight. Smaller the better. I put packing tape over the cable to help keep them out of the way. Getting 4-5 minutes on the 1000mah battery, ripping up the sky. Flies great, fast is fun. Bring on the 1.6m. it will go well with my Spitfire, P-38, Corsair, P-51 and B-25…!

Now reading the other post. I guess I can shove the wires in the diamond shaped hole!

Great!!! I've loved this plane since I was in high school (Class of '68.) WWII buff my whole life. Bought this the week it was available. I had to wait until my receiver arrived, but took it out to the field to show it off.

Have to agree with everything BeverlyHillBilly had to say. I still can't figure out where to put the dang receiver!!! I see Tigerman2's comment and photos. How do you get the canopy to go all the way down? I'll have to search for the video. Can't wait to fly it, but gotta Minwax it first.

Now, they need to come up with a 1.6 meter version with operating bomb bay doors and a scale torpedo... Be nice to have a rotatable turret with a gunner, too! How about put a servo prep for the turret? Like on my 2 meter B-24?

The SR6L receiver I used is only 45×18.5×9mm (L×W×H). If you have a tiny receiver, it may fit. Also, not that it means anything, but my box had a 226 of 562 sticker on it. So I guess the first run was 562 planes? It had the mode and item number on the sticker as well.

My experience assembling was a little different than mentioned on this thread.

No issues with installing my Lemon 6/7 channel DSMX receiver just above and behind the flight battery.

The lack of specific direction on where to run the aileron and retract wires did not bother me, as there is just one good way to do it.

My rudder and elevator servo leads were more than long enough to reach my RX.

Well, toasted the esc yesterday! Flew one 4 minute flight in 80 degrees weather. Took a 5 Minute pause and put it back up again. After another 4 minutes,.attempted to land and had to punch it to go around. It just lost power and went into the 2ft grass. No throttle, unplugged the battery and replugged it in. Motor spin up with the throttle once, 2nd time motor just wobbled. Installed another 20 amp esc I had and back to full.power! I let motion know with a ticket.
