      Some thoughts about manual

Bought me this second hand, was not finished completely.
It had some damage but I repaired it allready.
It's an easy build, just put the parts together.
But I noticed during installing wing struts in manual #26 they say 3*15mm screw, but this is wrong.
In fuselage there is a blind M3 nut installed and looking at covering in bright light I found where to puncture covering.
      See pics below.
I installed a AL5055-400Kv motor, YEP 100A esc and will use 6S5000 LIPO, prop at the moment is a master airscrew 15 x 10 but I don't know if it will be on there in the future after some test runs.

          About CG

In manual they say CG is 65-70mm form LE.
But I have some thoughts about this, I fly a lot of planes.
But when I fly a plane for the first time, also I fly new planes for fellow club members.
I always keep the 30% rule from LE in mind as a starting point.
For this plane wing has a dept of 27cm, so 30% = 81mm.
Well I will see in first flight with this plane how it will behave in the air.
For me I test this flying straight in the wind high altitude, throttle to zero and see what the glide path is.
I want to see a glide path around 30-45 degree.
A plane with a slight nose heavy CG is good to fly.

            Flying

Today I flew my VQ L4.
Used an FMS 14X8 and with 6S my telemetry gave me a current max 47A, Voltage 23.6V=1109watt max power.
Cruising current is between 10-15 amps and reading my watts in flight around 100-150watt.
It was a bit windy and performed CG in flight test, CG was around 70mm.
In flight my LIPO moved a bit backwards so I had a plane slightly tail heavy but I could handle it.
At home I modified my lipo area with a wooden stop for my lipo so it can not move more back for the next flights.
Hopefully tomorrow it will be less wind so I can trim and balance my plane better.

              Update CG

Flew today, securing my LIPO better than yesterday, CG=75mm and it flew just great.

                    Hi Folks,
Anyone out there have a Bowers Flybaby?
Here is link to short video.

Have a look at approx 2mins in to see his scarf flapping in the slipstream.
My drone pilot is getting better all the time.
                    Enjoy.
                    Regards
