I am certain that my Libby will be a great flyer just like the other MRC birds I have, and I know its because of all the careful consideration you and your team bring to the table. I'm not going to mess with trying to change the props until I have a bunch of flights under my belt - and its certainly likely that I'll decide that it isn't needed. I'm assuming that I'll be able to debut my Libby at the 5th annual NEF indoor event at Kent State University (Akron OH) in March. I wish I could convince MRC to participate in some way - so far I've only received the standard form letter rejections. But I'll invite all my friends, I already know of at least three of us who'll have this bird... and I'll send you a picture of our squadron if we pull it off. MAYBE THEN you'll like the NEF! :P
Rather impressive indoor arena that you CD your event at MD. When you say debut, static display:Cool: or fly :Scared:

        • Hey guys,
Does anyone know if the OD green version uses the same colors as the Flightline P38 in OD and gray from a year or so ago? I have both those paint colors left from that project that I had mixed up from Home Depot that I could use to customize the B24 Lib.

Yeah, its really a great place to fly indoors. Expensive to rent, though. This will be our 5th year and we've had a lot of sponsors and hobby shops drop out unfortunately. But we continue to soldier on, because it's well-attended by the pilots.
I think this may be one of the last big indoor events still going, since EFest and the Horizon Indoor stopped.
(BTW I'm not the CD, I'm the promoter and treasurer)

Whether we get to fly the B24 indoors at this venue really depends on its slow-speed characteristics. It will be totally cool if I can pull it off. I've flown my big B17 and that B36 in there, so I'm pretty sure it can be done. Keeping in mind my B36 probably has 1/2 the wing loading...

Anyway I'm hoping to try it out before the main event (we also fly indoors during the winter, once a month)
Of course most planes at these events are under 1 pound. Large planes like this are flown as demos instead of participating with the open flying, but its still impressive and the crowds love it!
I would love to show off the Liberator. It will look fantastic as a static display as well.

                        Hi rzing,
Yes, the FlightLine B-24 and P-38 both use the same OD green and gray paint. Simple for all of us who already have the touch up paint.

                        • I went online and learned a lot about the B-24 that I never new before. After reading the stats on the bird, it's history during the war on all theaters of operations, and just the shear number that were built, I decided I had to have one. I fly at the Apollo field with the war bird squadron. Currently I'm able to fly support for the bombers with the Flightline P-38 and the Spitfire. Now I will able to work my into the bomber formation with the B-17's and the other B-24's. I am really looking forward to adding this aircraft to wing.

Myself I'm kind of partial to the glass nose, but the brute does look menacing. Glad MRC is including both in the box! :)

                                  Hi Steve, Brent "Hollywood" here,
Now with you getting a 24, that makes myself, Joe (olive scheme), Adam (color ?) that I know of starting a wing of Libs to the B-17 squadron. Going to make for a great vid of them taxing out for takeoff. Your P-38 and Spitfire along with mine can change off flying escort.

Good morning, Brent! What a wonderful airplane!

The NorCal Bomb Squadron has ordered, at last count, 7 of these! The B-24 has been on many want lists for a long time !
