Just put my PT-17 together...Wow! What a beauty. CG came in at exactly 85mm with the 3S 2200 stuffed all the way forward. Been rainy and windy here in Toledo but hope to Maiden her soon. Thanks everyone for a great thread and since this my first (maiden) post here at Squawk, I'm in awe at all the expertise folks here. Thanks again. I'll post progress as we go along.AMA-1162306

At the hobby shop talking and I commented on the increase in speed on approach of othe PT17 STEARMAN. Gentlemen hit the nail on the head I think. I came from gas engines, where on idle prop acted as a shield/brake on approach. On electrics props just windmill FREELY when throttle comes back to idle. yEP IT picks up speed on approach unless you make a long final to bleed off speed prior to touchdown.Jimmy
