Just maidened the big Black Horse PC9 here in Dubai UAE (OAT only 40 degrees C!). Powered by the Admiral GT26 and Castle Creations Phoenix Edge 130A on 2 x 4s Admiral 5000's with the APC 17x10 prop. She flies a dream and has a very particular whistle, very turboprop like!! If anything I'd say the prop is not delivering the max performance, I might try a different combination, open to suggestions?
The model build quality is superb. Tiny mods required to fit the Xwave retracts. Getting the CG correct is a bit painful, needed 25gms ballast in the aft compartment. My only negative point is on the quality of the decal roundels, the white paint is very "see through", so on the fuselage the main body red shows through. It would be nice if BH could supply ready to cover versions as I'd actually like to finish in my own colours.
