  • Yeah proximity helps! LOL

Well keep in mind, if Mike has used him, you can trust him. He may take a round-about way to your place but I have no doubt she will arrive safe and sound soon.

I will ping Ed this weekend to see how things are shaping up. I know he had other build commitments in front of mine so I don't want to harass him - too much. LOL

Yeah she is home and seems to be O.K. Florian turns out to be a pretty nice guy and very careful too.:Whew:

            • Happy to report that Ed is officially on the build. He has had several large scale heli's in front of my Corsair but said that he's now ready to commit to my Corsair as of this past weekend. It's been so long since I bought it from Brad that I am kind of numb to seeing it finished but it sounds like the time is coming FOR REAL that I may just have her in my hands complete within the next 12 weeks or so...

                          • Update from Ed...

He said the build is coming along good and he thinks it might be completed by the end of July, which includes the cockpit and rolling canopy mod!

The only hitch he sees that could potentially prolong the build is resetting the elevator stab as the alignment was out of wack. Maybe it got warped Brad, from the time you set them until now? At any rate, it's looking like this bird is finally going to be complete soon! Praise the Flight Gods!!

Maybe so. I took great pains to get the two stab halves perfect. Always wondered if I shouldn't have done separately controlled stab halves instead of the dual control horn, so they could be adjusted individually, but went with the plans. They are held in there with Robart hinges and epoxy as I recall and slid onto the hinge points at the same time as the dual elevator control horn. Could be a real pain to get them back out and taper the hole for the control horn in the direction one of them need to move. Good luck with that.

                                • You might be able to apply a little hairdryer heat to the dual control horn area while applying pressure in the opposite way on the two elevator halves. That would take two guys to do. Then hold the pressure while things cool back down. Worth a try before taking one side apart.

                                    • I think I am good in taking this out like a real MD. This pin hinges removal is a lot of work and consumes more time but I'll manage. This applies to both the ailerons and horizontal stabs ....Geeeee what did you do? !!!!!......

                                        • Not sure why the ailerons would be a problem as they are not mechanically connected like the elevators. I would like to understand the problem better.
