The Battleship USS North Carolina (BB-55 holds a prominent place in naval history as the lead ship of the North Carolina class. Commissioned on April 9, 1941, the USS North Carolina was the first new battleship to enter service during World War II. It was affectionately nicknamed “Showboat” due to its striking appearance and advanced design, which featured improved speed, armor, and firepower. During World War II, the USS North Carolina played a crucial role in the Pacific Theater. It participated in every major naval offensive, from Guadalcanal to the Philippines, and earned 15 battle stars, making it one of the most decorated battleships of the war. The ship provided critical anti-aircraft defense for aircraft carriers, supported amphibious landings with naval gunfire, and engaged in several naval battles.

One notable moment in its service came during the Battle of the Eastern Solomons in August 1942, where the USS North Carolina's anti-aircraft fire was instrumental in repelling Japanese air attacks. Despite being torpedoed by a Japanese submarine in September 1942, the battleship continued to serve effectively after repairs.

After the war, the USS North Carolina was decommissioned in June 1947. In 1961, it was saved from scrapping through a public campaign and was preserved as a museum ship in Wilmington, North Carolina. Today, the USS North Carolina serves as a memorial to the veterans of World War II, attracting visitors and educating the public about its storied history.

Bancroft model boats are molded and hand finished using very intricate details and parts including metal, wood, plastic, and fiberglass. Because of their hand made nature, minor imperfections in the fiberglass, metalwork, or painting may exist. These potential imperfections will not affect the seaworthiness of the vessel or the overall scale boating experience. Bancroft scale RC boats are fragile so care should be taken when moving or transporting your model.

Some of the electronics in this Bancroft boat, including the Battery, ESC, Motor, and Receiver, are NOT intended to get wet; they are NOT water resistant. If any of these electronic components get wet and you attempt to operate your model, the water can cause an electrical short-circuit and void your warranty. In the rare instance that you get water inside your vessel, you should drain the water completely and allow all electronics to fully dry before attempting to operate your model. How is the 4 motor esc doing? Any problems? Change of heavy shift grease fixed it? The new 1/200 uss north Carolina seems to be quite the showboat of motion rc and now comes with a new escape of 120 vs the 80 in other similar class ships..she seems to have a realistic wake per her scale at half throttle. Beautiful ship. Hope her electronics our compatible.
