  • I AM PLAYING WITH MYSELF

    Hi all,

16 tanks professional edition and I simply cannot find a tanker in my area to play with in past 4 years. Can it be any worse and lonely than stamp collecting? Dai

We are a very small segment of the RC world, let alone if you dive into the world of RC tank battling it gets even smaller. That is way many of us have to drive hours to find a club or group to battle or even enjoy driving our tanks with.

If you are in a large city, find a hobby shop that has RC cars or specializes in plastic military models. Put a flyer up that you want to meet with other people interested in RC tanks.

Or go to a park and just drive your tanks around. Someone will be interested. Get them into the hobby and before you know it you will have a club with lots of members. David has lots of experience. He should chime in.
        Don't just fly--WREAK HAVOC!!!

When I run my tanks outside, yes there were plenty people stopping by to take a look and yes, plenty of kids. Even the UPS man stopped to take a look. But that was that. Just a passing 'Hey look! That's cool" interest. Nobody is interested enough to seriously consider this as a hobby. I fly R/C planes and For the love of God, there is not even a club in my city! I think online PC games are killing the R/C hobby! Dai

Initially, I put out 30 of my own tanks for guests to play when I started my club in SoCal. I bought tress, made banners and burned out houses to set up my battlefield. One by one, I welcomed new friends who helped me significantly in growing our club. Most of my battle events are at parks that I picked within 5 minutes from my house. I picked the location since I have to make 2 trips to bring out all the display items for the battlefield. Even the LA Times news came, watched, interviewed and wrote an article about our club. At this time. I am quite happy with the outcome and the number of members we have. I have members driving as far as 2 hours to our monthly events. I will probably slow down on the promoting part for the club at the end of the year and will just enjoying the hobby starting next year.
