  • BLADE 230S TAIL ROTOR

Powered up my newly arrived BLADE 230S for the first time today. Tail rotor did not start rotating until about half way to lift off, then came on and off intermittently as I slowly increased throttle. As soon as skids got light , it started to yaw rapidly left. Tail rotor was plugged securely in rx, and obviously was getting power some of the time. When running, the tail motor was quite noisy. Am I right in assuming the motor is probably bad? Years ago I flew HIROBO 30 helis, but this is my first crack at the minis with electric. I did power down quickly enough to prevent a tip over, so nothing is broken so far.

When you plugged in the battery, did you allow enought time for the gyro to initialize? The swashplate should bounce up and down to let you know its ready. The tail rotor will start up a little later than the main blades... and the tail motor and blades do make a lot of there own noise... try it again
