AMA Magazine still shows the date as Sept 9th. It has been changed to October 7th

4th Annual Warbirds over Grapevine -Fun fly/ Airshow / Fundraiser- Saturday October 7th
Date Changed to Saturday, October 7th !!!

For the 4th year in a row, the 114th RC Aero Squadron in Grapevine Texas is hosting “Warbirds over Grapevine” , a fun fly, airshow and fundraiser for Snowball Express. This is a fun event with door prizes, outstanding lunch, flight awards, a huge raffle and some really outstanding displays of airmanship. I’m the CD for the event.

Supporting Veterans groups have always resonated with our club members. All proceeds go to Snowball Express a 4 star charity supporting the children of our men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country since 9/11. We had several Snowball families attend last year and the kids had a blast in a WW-II simulator that was donated for the event.

Our grass field located inside Meadowmere Park is one of the best on the planet. EDF’s are not a problem. We’'ll have plenty of A-10 Warthogs, F5’s and Mig-21’s flying amongst scale gas powered giant scale warbirds and smaller electric models.

In years past we’ve even had full scale warbird flyovers. We’re hopeful to have this again this year. DFW tower has been kind enough to close runways 18R and 13L for 15 minutes. That’s a big deal.

    Here’s a news clip from a 2 years ago: http://dfw.cbslocal.com/video/330571...-In-Grapevine/

In our very first event, we led the nation in raising money for the Wounded Warrior Foundation on Model Aviation Day.

Of course, we scourge the earth looking for sponsors and donations.

More information will be coming soon so stay tuned. Make it to North Texas on October 7th ! Make it a weekend. Bring your family. There’s plenty to see and do around the area.Camping is available.

We're on Facebook and also have our own webpage: http://114thrc.org/

That we definitely will! I'm hoping to have a few other planes flightworthy by then as well. Hopefully my 20CC H9 Corsair and 90mm T-33 will be done by then.

This year we will have two trophies: One for WW-II era and another for Post WW-II Thus, we'll have several of the classic warbirds from WW-II and also a great line up of EDF's representing Korea till present day. This is a really fun event and a great fundraiser for Snowball Express.

Since 2006, the mission of Snowball Express has been a simple, yet profoundly important one: Provide hope and new happy memories to the children of military fallen heroes who have died while on active duty since 9/11.
