  • Sat Oct 7th - 4th Annual "Warbirds over Grapevine" A Fundraiser for Snowball Express

When it comes to raising money for Veteran Groups, the 114th RC Aero Squadron is one of the Nations's leaders. We led the nation in fundraising on the inaugural National Model Aviation Day 4 years ago with over $4,000 going to Wounded Warriors for a single day event. For the last few years we've been having a special event to raise money for Snowball Express. This 4 star rated charity supports the children of our fallen since 9/11 bringing them together with fun, planned events.

Our one day program includes providing a simulator the kids can actually sit inside wearing FPV goggles . Adults then provide the actual movement .

This is awesome and it's only 4 1/2 hours away. I probably won't fly but I'm definitely going to be there.

                      OV1,

It's actually a quasi two day event. Open flying on Sunday. Pilot Ryan and Captain Mike will be filming. Maybe even some new stuff. Next year we will make it a two day.

Big weekend here in the DFW area. Besides our event, the Dallas Stars open up their season on Friday night. There's a two day Commemorative Air Force show at Dallas Executive, formerly called Redbird. Great Warbirds including FIFI. Last year , they had a the last remaining guy from the Doolittle raid. He was Jimmy Doolittle's co-pilot. 100 years young. And then there's the Cowboys / Packers game on Sunday. Make it a weekend ! LOL

Grossman, we'll figure out how to get a shirt /hat to you ! James B from Marketing will be there.

                      Best,

                      Dave

Will do! I'll send an email to Fred and he can bring it up at the meeting next week. I'll definitely be bringing the A-10, not sure how my oleos will do an grass though, as well as (hopefully) a few new projects.

Awesome event Dave! Evelyn and I wish we could be there but we're already committed to attend the St. George, UT Electric Festival at the end of this month. Maybe it's just me but I think employers should give RC pilots more annual vacation time. ;)

Which Trophy will you bring home ? WW-II First place C-47 or Post WW-II F4J Phantom II ? or the Annual " Walk of Shame" Award for most spectacular crash ?
