  • Help replacing battery for a beginner

Help for a beginner please- some while ago a bought a helicopter but it has been stored and the battery has degraded. With lockdown on and looking for things to do can anyone recommend a replacement battery and advise whether the chip strip is usually included or would i have to be able to swap this into a new battery pack. Thanks in advance for any help that can be given

That's a fairly common type of 2 cell LiPo battery, with a JST connector and typical "balance port"). I can't tell from the label what "mah" it is but your manual may tell you this. It's likely between 500mah to 850mah. If you look on this page:
    https://www.motionrc.com/collections...%20(2S)%207.4V
You can see various 2 cell batteries. Look at all the ones with the JST connector (red one) and a balance port (white one). All you need is to pick one in the correct mah size. You should also take a look at the posted dimensions so you know it will fit into your heli. That little "chip strip" is required for all multi-celled LiPos to work so they are generally included, but hidden inside the wrapping.
BTW, for future reference, try not to over-drain a LiPo battery below 3.5v/cell and if you don't plan to use it for a while, keep the charge around 3.8v/cell. At that voltage, a LiPo can be left "stored" for years. A LiPo voltage checker only costs a few bucks.
