You can get replacement gear springs for this plane at "American Science and Surplus". They have a website. The part # is SSZ99942218P0020. You can also find it by searching "springs " on the site. Cost is $2.50 plus $5.95 shipping for 20 springs. You have to cut off a little bit on the loops at each end to get the fit. These are steel springs and strong enough.
