Had an amazing lucky escape with F16 yesterday. Very gusty conditions,took off ,turned downwind then suddenly model dived vertically.Thought lockout but then realised I had some control and managed to pancake it at the last second into the outfield. Expected anhilation but was amazed to see it in one piece. Only damage was slight crushing to intake.Turned out metal shroud had chaffed through 2 of the three motor wires causing the motor to cut out.Power system worked fine once wires were re-insulated….
