I recently crashed my Dynam Albatross when the elevator separated in flight. The elevator is secured to the horizontal stabilizer with 3 narrow plastic hinges - the inserting part is about 1/8th inch wide and maybe 1/2 inch long . As the plane went down in a field with 4 foot high Sorghum, I never found the elevator. However, the hinges on the horizontal stab all were intact, securely fastened and showed evidence of foam and glue on the parts that would have been in the elevator. My question is - what kind of glue do you use for these types of attachment? I used foam tac which has never caused me an issue before. Do you think I should use wider hinges?
