    1/275 Scale Russian Aircraft Carrier 710mm (28") - RTR from Bancroft - BNC1052-001

Affordable to own, easy to operate, and enjoyable to display, these R/C replicas from Bancroft deliver a model that is equally at home on display on your bookshelf or sailing on a nearby pond. Details like armament, aircraft, helicopters, and flight operations support equipment are included to provide additional realism. Along with the ship and display stand, a transmitter, rechargeable battery pack and convenient USB charger complete the contents of the package. Simply add two AA batteries (not included) for the transmitter, charge the battery pack, and you can be sailing one of these warships yourself!

Named after the capital city of Belarus, the Kiev-class aircraft carrier Minsk was launched in 1975, completed in September 1978, and decommissioned in 1993.

Operating with the Pacific Fleet and shortly after the Sino-Vietnamese War of 1979, Minsk was deployed to the South China Sea, making a port of call at Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam, in September 1980. She visited Vietnam again in 1982 during her second deployment before sailing onto the Indian Ocean.

Soviet cosmonaut Oleg Grigoriyevich Kononenko survived an aircraft ejection on the Minsk in 1979. On September 8, 1980, he lost his life in the crash of Yak-38 VTOL fighter on the Minsk. The carrier was retired as a result of a major accident (details unknown).

Recreated in 1/275 scale and resulting in a model over 28” (710mm) long, this vessel is ideally suited for display or sailing.
    Contra-Rotating Propellers and Safety Shut-Off

The efficient twin-screw propulsion system delivers scale operation, and safety is assured for younger skippers. The propellers automatically cease rotating when the ship is removed from water. A convenient touch-switch allows testing of the ship in dry dock with a finger.
    Flight Deck Details

Included aircraft, helicopters, and other flight deck accessories add realism as well as scale customization opportunities.
    Convenient USB Charging

A simple USB charger allows use of computer, device charging block, or alternate source of USB power. Automatic charge termination guarantees a complete charge every time!
