Sorry didn't reply sooner. Fishing season here so been doing more of that and not much rc stuff. I didn't do anything for the stabilizer. Just mounted it I used this stuff I got from Amazon for the tint. " Christmas Transparent Decorative Window Film,Green Transparent Film Window Tint Film. Cost about $10 bucks and you get enough to do a whole lot of windows!

Got a couple flights today. Having fun! Added some detail to mine. Tinted the two top windows green like the real ones. Painted over the medical emblem and added a couple pilots and missiles.

Nice , How did you tint the window? what did you use?.. Also i like how stiff the stabiizer bar is on yours, Mine is like a wet noodle , did you do anything to stiff it up?

Allow me to share some pics of my mod to the factory model.. just way too TOY n the color's all too vivid i felt.
I dremel-ed the doors open, resprayed the body with Krylon's camo OD, re-stencilled the boom 'ARMY' into 'MARINES', gave it a weathering wash of dusty buff acrylic, then drew on panel lines with a sharpie marker. Followed by brown and black pastel chalk weathering to accentuate the lines, and a silver fine paint-pen to add on body scratches and some sand-blasted weathering effect on top surfaces to mimic chipped paint. Finished with an overall semi-gloss varnish to seal in the chalk and even-out the whole sheen.
I'm liking it a lot more now!

I agree a little toyish I would have done the same it I chose this one but I pic the Bo-105 and iam changing the color

Hello all. Just got the flying 450 size UH1 Huey.

First flight.

I noticed this thing has insane vibration. The video I took doesn't capture it but I kinda feel like this thing will eventually disintegrate in flight. The shake and vibration is very violent. Usually only a bent main shaft causes this, but this is new and first flight.

I'm wondering if it's because of the scale blade links keep the blades fixed firmly where they are and they will never be balanced against each other at 180 degrees like free folding blades are.

No matter how much I wiggle the blades in their tight grips they will never be even and balanced.

Would removing the scale link and opening the blade grip up a tad so the blades free fold and then swing out on spin up solve this violent vibration and wobble?

It takes a whole 15 minutes to pull out the whole drive frame out and in. You might find that some of the landing gear screws are under the plywood floor. (some are some are not) If they are just drill a whole where the screw is and remove it. They will not take hard and i mean even semi hard landing on asphalt or rocks or concrete. There plastic is very brittle . If i find the stl file for the landing gear I have it but as usual I never renamed it landing gear. You can print it in petg

Got mine today, a month of waiting, promises of delivery, chasing the worst delivery company around all day yesterday when they claimed my house didn’t exist. I was forewarned of the wobble that these have and was prepared to combat it, so I measured the blades with a micrometer for length and consistency, weighed them, they were exact.. then assembled it, brought it out to our field and spooled it up, noticed a bit of shake, it was rattling on the ground, but when launched, no problem, flew like a dream. Got it on video, first flight, was great. The circling, figure 8, all worked well. Tested the landing, it was good, rattled a bit before shut down, but all good. Launched again, flew great, battery lasted well, commented to my friend “ this thing flies for ever!” Landed it, then he launched his plane and was flying round, so I spooled the heli up, preparing to launch, it was vibrating, I took a second to get to the controls and all the sudden, it drops sideways, flops around, I kill the power Immediately ( I highly suggest that anyone be very clear on how to shut it off fast) turns out that before I took off, the landing skids just collapsed from the vibration, wore themselves out and just dropped the helo to the ground. No chance of control when that happens. I was just blown away. When I looked at it, the skid just laying there, and the brand new helo.. I was like WTF? Guys. CHECK YOUR SKIDS EVERY FLIGHT before you fly for any cracks or anything. The worst part is that now I will have to wait for another month and I have to take the whole damned thing apart again all of the way, because those screws are not easy to access with human adult hands, and they are on the bottom-inside of the heli.. see my pics. Wish I could post video of the wobble on the ground…
But this is a potentially fatal flaw in the design of this, worse yet, the days of waiting because you can’t launch without the skids, and definitely cannot land without them, it doesn’t just shut down. I’m pissed

I would say close to 1/18 in scale. Being the real Huey is just under 58 ft in length with rotor and this one is 36 and a 1/2 inches in length.

First impression, in gps mode pretty darn stable for a heli. Slight drift specially when you rotate. But to be honest all I did was charge pack, bolt on main blades and throw the lipo in. The v3 version will calibrate in a few minutes all on its own. Nice feature by the way. No drone dance required. More to come once we have better weather and I get out to the field. Still need to figure out how to post video here
