GUTHRIE COUNTY, Iowa (KMEG)— The Guthrie County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that four people died in a small plane crash in Iowa Friday evening. The plane was being flown by a student pilot after the pilot had suffered a heart attack. Authorities say that Des Moines Air Traffic Control received a request for an emergency landing around 5:00 p. m. Friday for a single-engine aircraft at the Guthrie Center Airport.
