    Using a 5s on an 80mm A-6 ...

    I was wondering if it is possible to use a 5s battery on this plane even though it is recommended for a 6s....Will it damage the battery?.....

      It's only adequately powered on 6S. i'm afraid 5S would be a severe disappointment.

              The gas tank size(4000mAh) and carb size(60C) are just a part of the equation but not the driving factor for the horse power(6S).
              The motor on the Intruder has a 1750kV motor rated for 6S which gives it a formula driven 38850 rpm. RPM = 3.7v (S) x 6S x 1750kV
              The 5S will net 32375 RPM which is a drop of 6475 rpm or greater than 15% loss of power.

                      My new A-6 will arrive this coming Mon. Yes 6s 4000 60c is the right battery size also it will fit the 6s 4500 also Thanks for the equation Charlie. Happy flying GOOSE!
