new EDF install issue...

I bought JP Hobby 70mm counter-rotating fans for my B1 bomber and upgrade the ESCs to Spektrum 130s, got everything installed, fans rotating in the right direction, etc., but when I pour the coals to them they start this weird like 'clipping' / cutting out thing. It's a long way from the ESCs to the single battery and the wiring isn't just one continuous wire for the pos and neg - I've got 6" Spektrum pre-made extensions with a Spektrum Y-connector at the top to bring both ESCs into one battery. I had to solder new ends on the Y-connector to adapt it for what i needed, but all the went well...
Based on all of the foregoing, does anyone have any thoughts on what may be happening here? Any constructive advice would be very welcomed... and thanks in advance....

May be timing. Lower it.

Can you tell if it's one motor or both? Does it do it on the ground? Did it do it when stock? Long wire runs shouldn't cause what you're experiencing. I have several EDFs with long wire runs and none do that. Do any of the connections feel hot after a run? Maybe check the soldering in the connections. Did you calibrate the ESCs?
Also Spektrum ESCs have a different way of doing reverse. (Are you using a Spektrum "smart" RX?) They don't use the typical reverse wire to an empty channel. Do you have reverse programmed? 2 separate Spek ESCs with reverse can be "odd". Their latest EDFs with reverse use integrated "dual" ESCs to avoid any such issues.

Guys, I tried all of the above suggestions and nothing changed - it's still clipping above about 25-30% throttle... very strange.

Strange indeed. Another suggestion ................. disable one ESC at a time and see if each motor clips by itself. IE, remove one throttle lead from the RX and see what a single ESC/motor does.

The JP EDFs aren't compatible with the Spektrum ESCs... the JPs are 12 pole motors - that's apparently the issue...
