  • Battery for PROPEL Drone

    Hello.
I am looking for a new battery for my (just obtained) PROPEL HD Video Drone 2.4 GHz Quadcopter with HD Camera and Altitude Stabilization Technology. This drone was given to me. I have the original battery, however, it appears to be on it's last leg as flight times are under 4 minutes or so. The manual mentions about 10 minute flight times under normal conditions. The original battery is 3.7 volts and 800 Mah. It is enclosed in a plastic case that slides into the drone and then locks into place. Any help or ideas are welcome.
    Thank you very much!

First thing I would do is to do a search on ebay. If no luck there, do a Google search for all sellers of your drone and see if any of them carry the battery for it.

REDICULOUS! Absolutely no need to do that.

          Hello Xviper.
Thank you for your thoughts about E-Bay and Google, as your time / effort and help is much appreciated.
However, I had previously done an E-Bay search (a couple of times), with no success! I also did Google searches for the manufacturer of the drone, without any benefit. It appears that the manufacturer is out of business and left no contact information at all, as to any way to find any replacement parts for ithe products that it once sold.
Now, I am glad that Evan D took the time to count the number of posts. That lets me know, that at least some people actually saw and read my post !!!
Also, there is a very old saying that remains true to this day. I imagine that you have heard of it. It states: "Not to ask, is not to receive."
However, if I offended either of you, I certainly apologize!
          Thank you.

Don’t worry about multiple posts. Maybe you can open it up and replace what is inside yourself. Another choice is to see if batteries plus can do it but I bet that would be expensive.

Excellent idea! I did that with my old Thunder Tiger Innovator 450 helicopter. It had a very proprietary battery. I cut it apart to save the end that had the connector that plugged into the heli. I wired in a common 2200mah 3s LiPo and it worked. I'll bet something like that can be done with this quad.
On the other hand, is it this one?
We Searched Propel HD Video Drone 2.4GHz Quadcopter Built in HD Camera, stunts FPV via Phone deals, best reviews, and coupon codes over the last year for you at drones.

At 55 bucks, you could just buy a whole new one and use the battery for both.

Yes, that is the one in the link that you sent. Thanks guys for doing that research and passing the link along!!!!!
And great minds must think alike, because taking apart the plastic battery case is exactly what I did this morning.
We have a Batteries Plus store here that I will check with to see if they have or can get the same battery. Anyway, good thing that I have a little pinpoint soldering iron to disconnect the leads from the little soldering tabs. Also, there is a guy in our club that does 3D printing. I am wondering if he could duplicate (print) the battery case. If so, I could then have a couple of batteries.
And one other thing, you guys have been so helpful, with your time and ideas. So thanks again, and I think that you both deserve a huge raise in your 'volunteer pay.'

You should check hobby shops for possibly better pricing on LiPo batteries. Those Battery Plus prices seem a bit on the high side.

Since you are willing to solder... You can get single cell plain LiPo's at Hobby King cheap. But I'm sure there are other places too.

xviper: I sure do miss the Brick and Mortar hobby shops. Now, there are not any at all, close to where I live That was one type of shopping that I truly enjoyed, ha ha. It was always fun to go into those! And thank you for being a firefighter earlier in life!

Evan D : Soldering has always been an interesting process for me too. I would even solder the rail joiners on my small H O scale railroad. When your solder joint comes out a bright silver color, one has created a perfect solder union. And thank you for serving in the Military too!

Thanks again to both of you for your help and please stay warm also!!
