Best Deep Cycle Battery for a Trolling Motor? Need Advice

    Hey everyone,

I'm setting up a trolling motor on my 16 foot jon boat and could use some guidance on batteries. I currently run a 55lb thrust 12V motor and I'm torn between a standard flooded lead acid deep cycle, an AGM, and a lithium option.

I mostly fish for 4 to 6 hours at a time, sometimes on multi day trips where I can't always recharge overnight. Budget matters, but I don't want to be constantly replacing my trolling motor battery either. Has anyone compared runtime and longevity across these types? Also curious how much the battery box or maintenance differs.

Thanks in advance for any real world experience you can share.

The right lithium is no maintenance and is most power dense . You could build a 4 cell pack from ford c max cells . The only thing is you need to have a volt meter as it isnt good to discharge the pack beyond a certain voltage. However imho The Deep cycle is going to still be a solid choice.
