Dead LiPo batter

This post is to find out if a LiPo battery can be revived. What happened was I forgot to remove my low voltage alarm on the battery and when I noticed it, I tried putting it on my charger and nothing happens lights all stay on and battery is flat. Help

If a LiPo battery has been discharged below about 3V per cell, it is damaged. You may be able to recharge it, but I wouldn't trust it for anything but bench testing - verifying motor direction, setting up servos, etc. If you have a computer charger, you may be able to charge it in NiCd or NiMH mode, just to get the voltage high enough for the LiPo setting to work. Do this outside, where any resulting fire won't harm anything.

I agree with WintrSol.......

When I end up with damaged Lipo's they become 'Bench Bats'.

Usually, if a lipo has been deep cycled or becomes a 'Puffer', i'll typically charge it at a rate 1/2 to 3/4 its C rating and then only to approximately 4/5 of maximum voltage. That keeps the charging slow and capacity safe.

However, they are fully capable of (as was mentioned) providing suitable power for bench testing and servo setup, prop orientation, etc...

One thing I will strongly re-iterate from WintrSol...... Any time I charge any battery that is destined to be a Bench Bat I ALWAYS charge them outside, in a Lipo bag, in a metal bucket (especially Puffers).

I feel your pain, have done it myself.  All you can do, short of using it for a bench battery, is take it out to the garbage recycling bin, play taps over it softly and walk away, just walk away.....

Indeed, but please drop your old LiPo's in a bucket of saline solution to "fully" discharge them before they head to the dumpster or you may one day get a nasty-gram for your disposal company.
