Futaba compatability question

My friend is offering me the opportunity to upgrade from a 6 to 8 channel radio. The specific radio is the 8J radio with s-fhss technology. My older radio was a faast system.

Here is my question: Will my R617FS receivers work with this 8J transmitter?

I have the Futaba J-8 and I'm pretty sure it does.

UPDATE: I tried binding my radio to one of my older receivers (r617fs) - it would not bind. However, it did bind to the R2008sb right away.

So it appears the new radio is NOT compatible with my other receivers.

Is the r617fs FAAST?

I believe that that are. They work with my FAAST radio.
