This is probably the most beautiful racing plane ever built. Check out the full scale replica on Youtube. If FMS produced this plane it would be a sure success. Doc

RE: Travelair Mystery Ship
Hello doctormike,
That is a very-very close resemblance to the Gee Bee Model Y. The Mystery Ship Type R was built in 1929 by the Travel Air company and the Gee Bee "Senior Sportster" was built in 1931 by the Granville Brothers. Seeing as they were both designed for racing, just guessing here that the Granville boys idea wasn't too original. Anyways, knowing how fickle the model manufactures are(especially FMS in light of their recent discontinued models) I wouldn't hold your breath on FMS doing this. You'd probably be better off doing some customization to the DYNAM Gee Bee to get your desires fulfilled. That is a 50 inch span with good flying characteristics and is not intimidating at all to fly. The Gee Bee R3 which was a "fantasy" racer(no real one built) has the landing gear configuration of the Mystery Ship and that RC model is avail also.
