I am a beginner trained on the mini apprentice and was considering the EFlite Cirrus Sr-22. I just love the look and the way it flies. It also doesn’t seem to be as difficult as a warbird or something I can’t handle right now. I am comfortable in intermediate and expert modes on the mini apprentice but was wondering if the SR-22 would be too big of a step for my 2nd plane? Thanks for any suggestions!

A flying buddy and I both got a Cirrus at the same time. Neither of us are "beginners". Mine was never a problem and I flew it without incident. My buddy, however, is a bit of a nervous flyer and anything new takes him a while and a couple of crashes to get used to. He still has a bit of trouble with his Cirrus. So, I guess it all depends on what kind of beginner you are. A mini Apprentice might not be a good indicator for how your next plane will turn out.
Having said this, both of us got the PNP Cirrus. If you get the BNF with SAFE, you will probably be OK.

I've got one and it's a really easy plane to fly but then I am far from a beginner. I think this is a reasonable choice for a next plane but as xviper says it depends on how your flying skills are. If you have an experienced person oin the club that can fly with you a time or two that might not be a bad idea.

Wow, digging up an old thread to say the least but I just bought this model...There's a new housing development popping up a block away and it's in the phase where the homes are not built yet but the roads are already there. Perfect long stretch of runway for me to fly, so I bought this model with that environment in mind. Seems like an easy flyer. Nice size, lightweight, love the flaps and lights. Maiden soon...
