RE: What is your favorite plane to fly?

    Hello jobinseattle,

Welcome to the forum! You are spot on about the Corsair S. Excellent flying plane, and one I really enjoy as well.

My favorite is my pz p47. Like the speed not a rocket but fun good roll rate, climb out, and nice and stable low and slow with flaps. It's also forgiving on those days my landings aren't so smooth.

RE: What is your favorite plane to fly?

Lets see, I own six, have flown four, hmmm.
The Hobbyzone Super Cub is just an outstanding trainer.  I'd never flown R/C until last June or July and she was the one that broke the ground literally!
Up until that point I would never have thought that a plane made of foam could be as tough as they are.
Just like girl friends, she was my first so she'll always hold a special place in my heart.
But as you go along, you realize that there is more to flying life than rudder and elevator, so along came the Pandoras.
            Maybe call them advanced trainers.
They're great to fly and reliable, steady stabile machines.........
            Then I got the Waco................
For as much of a challenge as she's been to fly, what with CG issues and elevator throws being way too high, I'm finding her to be my go to plane!
There is just something about watching her fly past in her red and white livery with the scarf on the rear pilot blowing in the wind that says it all to me.
It inspires my imagination.  What more can you ask for.
As for the Mustangs, they're going up this season too.  I'm taking one to Wisconsin when I go for flight training.  Then we'll see.  I'm sure I'll have a new favorite.

I've seen a lot of threads on this forum from maiden flights, to the "old tried and true", and thought it would be interesting to find out what everyone's favorite plane might be, along with why. Does it just fly right, look great in the air, what about that plane makes it your favorite, the one you always want to take to the field?

For me, I think my favorite plane is my FMS 1400mm Cub. Something about a yellow Cub up in the air just appeals to me. It is easy to see, and it has the ability to be a relaxing slow flyer if I want it to, or can do some pretty crazy aerobatics if I want that. Nothing fancy, but just a plane I love to take to the field and fly.

My second favorite really varies with my mood. Sometimes I just want to get a warbird in the air and tear up the skies. For that, I love my old Parkzone F4F Wildcat. Very basic plane, no flaps, no navigation lights, heck, it doesn't even have landing gear, you have to hand launch and belly land it, but it just flies right, and looks great doing it.

I have many others I love, like the PZ T-28, but thought I would stop at just two for now. So what do the rest of you guys and gals enjoy flying?
Boy thats a hard one, like asking which kid is your favorite. For all the times my sesnses have been bombarded by flying the 12s super viper, 1700mm P-51, and now the 90mm F-16, I would have to say my J-3 Cub is my most sentimental since this is what I learned on. Additionally, I mainly use the J-3 to shoot precision approaches and touch and goes. Having several 4s packs,  I can literally spend hours just flying approaches and t&g's . It is so rock solid I have perfected my spot landings to an area 10sf. In contrast to the more intense props and edf's, flying the cub is so relaxing and with the custom lighting installed, cant beat the feel one gets from a sunset/dusk outing.

Exactly CT! You nailed it, at least for me. I love flying my Cub for the same reasons. Just plane fun (Pun intended!!) to fly. I love warbirds too, and have even take a few baby steps into EDFs, but always want to come back to my Cub.

RE: What is your favorite plane to fly?

My favorite plane to fly is the FW P-51D. But, I have a routine of my first flight of the day 95% of the time being the Pandora.  Kind of get the thumbs warmed up. Then the Iron Ass, till my charging isn't keeping up on the 4s and 5s batteries.  Then i'll go to my 1100mm Old Crow and Pandora, till the charging cycle has caught up so I can go back to the Iron Ass.  This winter I've purchased some more 5s batteries and a new dual charger and power supply.  So I'm sure my favorite will be seeing even more flying time than the others on extended outings.

                  Here's my new charging setup......

Hey jobinSeattle , welcome to the forum ! I watched your video of the Cub , Wow sorry about that !!! This is me but I would try slower takeoffs . That way you have more time to see what's happening so you get reaction time . Just ease in the throttle to get some runway speed the pull up .

I am really enjoying reading all the responses on here about favorites to fly .

It is hard to choose from the Freewing P-51 or the Dynam SU-26. So many it is hard to choose. Most of my planes come from Motion RC. They sell great items and stand behind them. Oh yeah like me they are Vets.

I love the Corsair. There's something about the way a gull wing looks in the sky, and the way it cuts it up!
