I am a US Marine I graduated MCRD San Diego in 1993, Honorable Discharged in 1996 due to President Clintons base closures and cutbacks. I am curious how many of the pilots on this forum are Vets?

RE: Vet. Pilots?
Thanks to all the vets out there!
I'm a retired Air Force CMsgt In-Flight Refueler KC-135's 30yrs Air Force and Air Guard from 1969-1999. I love flying anywhere anytime. Motion helps me fuel that passion and the forum helps me share it. Once again thanks to all you vets and good flying!

RE: Vet. Pilots?
I'm a retired US Army 1ST Sgt, 24 years, 1968 - 1992. Started with Nam, ended with the Gulf War, and still miss it every day. Flew RC for 16 years in 70's and 80's then got out of it. Started again about 3 years ago when I retired from everything and now fly mostly EDF's (FW F-16, F-18, and old standby A-6 Intruder) with occasional flights on "Chubby", FMS 1400mm Pitts S-2A. I Fly almost every day and Love every minute of it.

RE: Vet. Pilots?
I really don't know how to express my gratitude to all you vets other than say thanks for giving all of us who didn't serve the opportunity to enjoy or lives and freedoms we all take for granted every day. It's my Honor to share this time and wonderful hobbie with you.

RE: Vet. Pilots?
Did 22 years 10 months and 10 days active duty in the USAF as a Crew Chief (Mechanic). Retired in 2006. Worked T-38A (83-87), F-15 C/D 87-2006 and did a few things with the A-10 and F-16 while stationed at Spangdahlem AFB Germany. Mostly pulled F-16's off the runway when they had an in-flight emergency or put them in a box with a crane to go back for depot maintenance when they were too damaged to fly. A-10s did the same but was trained in rigging flight controls and canopies. Just before I retired I started getting the F-22 hot pit (refueling with engines running) program going.
I still miss the flight line and crewing jets! Nothing like the smell of JP-8 and hearing an Eagle take off in full afterburner in the morning!Off with one helluva roar!
