I am curious as to what y'alls opinion is on this subject. I have decided to retire my old faithful 1400mm V1 Airfield (FMS) Skytrainer 182. She was a fun plane but she is just falling apart (more epoxy and birch than foam at this point). My 182 was my go to plane for just cruising around, at times trying maneuvers that I don't dare try with my warbirds right away. So I am in the market for a plane I can just cruise with fly slow and enjoy, also have the go and ability to get after it when I want to play or try new things, but I don't want to get bored with it. I was thinking about the 1400mm T-28, or even the new version of the 182. I would like to stay in the 1400mm series. I am open to suggestions. Ok annnnd.... GO! lol

RE: Just a relaxing fun plane
I had a Sensei and it was great, except it is SO big. The wingspan is 59 inches! Needs a real long landing area as she just floats forever. Now don't laugh but my real easy, go to airplane is my Hacker EPP foam Ultimate Biplane. It is a total kit, you add everything, all the electronics. It is the easiest plane to fly, takes off at 1/4 throttle, you can cruise or go nuts if you want and try aerobics. Because it's EPP it is almost indestructible. Because it is a full fuselage plane it doesn't have that weird look of most of the EPP foam profiles.
Not many places sell them, they are from the Czech Republic. Got mine at RC Baron. They have videos on You Tube.Addicted to planes!

RE: Just a relaxing fun plane
"Get the Dynam T-28. That thing is a pooch. Easy to fly, a little under powered but can still do maneuvers. Only problem with it is the nose gear is a little weak."
I used to have the ultra micro T-28 and I was never able to fly that plane. Every time I hear "T-28" I have a moment of panic. So the Dynam T-28 is easier to fly?

I like my Flyzone Beaver also Doc. I have the MRRCSound in her and it sounds awesome. I use the same controller for the new Zero, just swap out out.Originally posted by doctormikeNext to my Radian, my Flyzone Beaver is the most relaxing plane I have. Grass landings are a cinch. Water T&L's are SO much fun! It handles wind very well and is even quiet aerobatic. DocAddicted to planes!

RE: Just a relaxing fun plane
Yes it did because I used both the speaker and the bass transducer. Had to add a bunch of weight to the nose.Originally posted by jobinseattleI just bought a Flyzone Beaver from a club member. I have not flown it yet. I am actually looking forward to it after reading how relaxing it is to fly.
Also I just looked up the MRRCSound and that looks really cool. Does it add much weight to the plane?Addicted to planes!

My relaxing and fun plane for everyday flight has to be the J-3 cub and T-28, both 1400mm. I have modded all my 1400's with a 6s setup except the cub, which is modded with a fms 770 motor( Strega). I go through stages wanting some adrenaline fix with my EDF's and other times wanting scale with warbirds, and yet other times wanting just plain fun and relaxing. I mainly use my cub for touch and goes perfecting my approaches and spot landings, and has the extra power for aerobatics. My T-28 with the 6s setup has limitless vertical with the 15 or 16" prop., and has excellent slow flight capabilities. All modded with extensive nav lights, strobes, and landing lights for dusk flight, my favorite time ti fly. I also find these 2 have the lowest maintenance involved and run on affordable lipos.
