After Parkzone discontinuing most of their best warbirds it appears eflite is reissuing them with the extras installed. The cost of the new planes is about the price of the earlier bind and flys without the flaps and retracts. This seems like 1 they are the same company and 2 they have lost enough business they are trying to become more competitive. Does any one have more information or another opinion. I kinda like the quality of their planes but not to crazy about the price.

RE: New eflite planes
I've always like the Horizon Hobby planes, and in fact, have already pre-ordered the new UMX PT-17 they are offering now. I think it will be perfect for the Micro Modeler's club meetings at work, and with AS3X built in, it should be really stable. They also are showing a new P-47 like the recently released P-51, that has flaps, retracts, AS3X, and more, all standard if you buy the BNF version. As nice as their new P-51 is, I will certainly be getting the P-47 too. I like the olive drab color scheme with the checkerboard cowl. When you consider you are getting a BNF with receiver and gyro for $249, and 42" wingspan versus some of the smaller ones out now for the same money, how can you go wrong? For me, a 3 cell plane in the 1100mm bracket is fast enough, and easy enough to get in most any car, and can stand some wind too. A nice, good all around size for my purposes.

RE: New eflite planes
I'm looking at those three also it would have been perfect if the p47 had been a ridgeback. I'm sure it's the same as the earlier version. I have it and it's possibly my favorite plane. May wait a while on the mustang I have the dynam p51 and I like to have a variety of planes instead of multiples of the same one. The pt17 is really tempting but a little soured on the um's had the um p40,spitfire,and flyzone dr1 all were a little disappointing. I also wonder what kind of performance the 4 blade props have compared to the 2 blade on the new p51 and p47 they would look good on my Pz p47 and Pz corsair. I also like the 1100 to 1200mm 3 cell planes the are fast enough economical and can carry several to the field at the same time.

RE: New eflite planes
I am a new fan of these planes. I have the p-51 and the quality of the retracts is outstanding. I fly off a gravel runway and have had no problems with the landing gear or any other part of the plane.
Same as you guys, I also like the size of these. Big enough to see in the air and small enough to fit a few in the car.
Will definitely be getting the p-47

RE: New eflite planes
This P47 is the same as the Parkzone version except retracts and flaps come installed and with AS3X if you get BNF all for the same money as the old version in 4 channel state. I'm very excited about them bringing this back for a multitude of reasons. 1 being personal I put a lot of flights and even more landings on my first one, 2 I think its one of the best flying warbirds out there,3 it is the best flying P47 out there,4 it flies nice,5 it flies SO nice, and 6 it's a great first full house warbird choice.
The new scheme will be easier for a lot of guys to see, and the 4 bladed prop just looks awesome.
For fun look up RC Air Training Command on YouTube and you can see Capt. Mike and I do a video on the original. Great plane!
