Any suggestions on replacing retracts on my 1100mm Rock Hobby high speed Corsair. The ones that come with the plane quit working right after two perfect landings on asphalt. I just need to know what will fit right I guess. Thanks

RE: retact issues
Hey Tim did you just get this plane ? If you did was it from MRC ? The reason I ask is if so contact support about what happened .
If not look into the FMS retracts since that plane is half , or more , FMS . Some things may be interchangable . Rock hobby is a side or div. however you want to word it of FMS .

RE: retact issues
Let us know what you find, I have replaced the retracts a couple times on the Corsair, and have it currently in mothball since I will not spend anymore on these very weak retracts.Originally posted by Hippie 64Hey Tim did you just get this plane ? RE: retact issues
probably not the corsair retracts rotate 90% when going into the wing. I just received another set, and I don't see the short comings on the new set as I did the last. Hopefully they hold up.Originally posted by IfIHadWingsI've got dozens of asphalt cycles on my Roc Hobby Critical Mass. I wonder if they would drop in?

The best I found so far is the E-Flight 10-15 90% retracts for the parkzone corsair. They can be made to fit, and on eflightrc.com they have a video. Looks really easy and like a good fit.Originally posted by CTLet us know what you find, I have replaced the retracts a couple times on the Corsair, and have it currently in mothball since I will not spend anymore on these very weak retracts.Originally posted by Hippie 64Hey Tim did you just get this plane ? RE: retact issues
check these out, they look like a direct replacement. Much more rugged. The etracts that come on the 1400mm corsair look exactly the same as the rock hobby etracts. If you can send me a set (Broken or not working with all the busted pieces) I can build you brackets that will help the mounting surfaces stay together.

RE: retact issues
They look good, and cheaper than e-flight. When I get home I need to look more closely at my Rock Hobby set I don't remember seeing any grub screws to take them apart. If I was to get these retracts I would have to get the struts for that corsair and hope they fit right. :s 1400 cant be tooo much different than 1100Originally posted by STOOPIDMONKEYcheck these out, they look like a direct replacement. RE: retact issues
Hello Tim,
The only way that those 1400 etracts are gonna fit on a 1100 frame is if you do a major carve out job and that is real doubtful. To put it in scale perspective, your gonna put 55" span etracts on a 44" span bird?? The other part that goes with that 1400 etract that Monkey didn't link is this: http://www.motionrc.com/1400mm-fms-f4u-corsair-v3-main-landing-gear-struts/
I just took a measurement off my 1400 F4U-4 Olathe Corsair for you. With the gear extended, from the base plate of the etract to the bottom of the wheel is 142mm. I seriously doubt these will work on that Roc but good luck on your quest to revamp your present setup.

RE: retact issues
Thank you. My best bet is to probably go with E-Flight. They give you the option to trim e'm to whatever size you need. I know their more expensive, but if their retracts are as durable / powerful as their batteries. I think that's what I'll go with. (quality) Thank you again. I've been flying up wings for a year and a half with no success on war birds until recently with the ROC. I love it. I got a new set of retracts for the ROC and they seem built better. One of the things I noticed is the kick bar that flips the wheels in is longer. That was my problem. One side was to short and jamming until finally the gears would not work anymore. Hopefully these work good. Some people have no problem with them. If not I'm going to pay the money and go E-Flight. Newbe to retracts.Originally posted by OV10Hello Tim,
