So I am contemplating picking up the Tactic TTX650 TX, I am just not sure yet. Does anyone use this TX? What are your thoughts? I do not buy bind and fly planes so I don't need DSM technology. I have had my DX7s for 3 years now, it is tired and I dropped it in my garage the other day so time to replace it.

I've been using one for almost 3 years and never had any problems with it I think it's easier to set up than spectrum and 20 model memory. I use the tactic 624 six channel receivers $20 and never had any problems with them either. I just wish it had the knob for flaps like the 600. It does have a 3 position switch that works ok for flaps.

Yes and I love it !! The price is great and it will do almost anything the higher priced radios do . I have not had any problems with it or the receivers .

If I change it will be to the 850 that's out now but I don't see that anytime soon

I've had my Tactic 650 for three year's and I love it. I use both the 624 and 625 receivers and they work fine. I plan on getting the Tactic 850 next. You can't go wrong with either.

If anyone is interested towerhobbies.com has the NiMH battery packs that are recommended for the TTX650 in stock. They sell for $17.99 plus $1.99 shipping, out the door for $19,98 shipped. Part number is HCAM6321 (I got the part number from Tactic web site). Beats buying massive amounts of Alkaline batteries.

                RE: Tactic TTX650

I got my TTX650 yesterday! Today I have been programming my planes into it, and I have to say that I love this TX! I cheated a little and watched the Captain Mike videos on set up. Got my sticks and gimbals set the way I like (a nice option), Set the fail safe. This TX is so easy to use, I am glad I got it. I venture to say I like this TX more than I like my DX7s, just to put that out there. I used it to fly my 800mm P-40 and it was a flawless flight! I cant wait to get out to the field and fly my other planes.

                  RE: Tactic TTX650

I don't know that one is truly better than the other but I started out with a spectrum 4 channel that came with hobby zone cub then bought a Flyzone corsair rtf that came with a tactic 600. When I decided to get a programable I went with the tactic 650 and loved it. Both my sons use spectrum dx6i's and love them. My next will probably be the 850 tactic. I think they're easier to use. Just my 2 cents worth.

                    RE: Tactic TTX650

I have been really impressed with the TTX650, and have had absolutely no issues with it. The one thing I have noticed is that the control throws do seem to be more sensitive than they are on my Spektrum radios. Easy enough to fix, just adjust the expo and throws, and I can get a very similar feel with the TTX 650. I had actually bought a second TTX 650 for some of my TXR Flyzone planes since my first one was at max model capacity. Kind of wish I had waited now that the TTX 850 is out with  a 30 model memory! But for the money, it is very hard to beat these Tactic radios.

Had mine almost three years. A fabulous value! Recommended!

Only drawback is no slider control for auxiliary channel. The new TTX 850 has two!

                        Greetings,

                        Congrats!! On your new transmitter.

I think your going to like it.
As most others have, I too have been using the 650 for quite a while with no issues.
I recently started using the 850 as well, but I think that given a switch or two, I like the 650.

                        Best of luck

Hey all! Long time no see! Well its time for an upgrade, I am thinking about grabbing the TTX 850. Was looking for any thoughts or opinions on that TX. How is the range? Does it have any faults?

I have the TTX 850 and really like it, my main radio is a Futaba J8 but I'm finding I using the Tactic more these days.

I have the 850 and at the price you can't go wrong. The 850 was my first experience with tactic and have found no short comings to operation and qualtity of the tx. I also fly with the spectrum DX6 which I started with as my first programmable radio but find myself putting most of my newer planes on the 850. If there's one thing that it needs is more model memory but other than that it compares in every way to my spectrum.
