High control surface rates for landing?

I believe I have seen Pilot Ryan say on some of his videos that he uses high rates for landing. His video of the big F-86 shows some porpoising on landing and he mentions high rates as he tries to bring her down.
Anyone have opinions and explanations for using high rates for landing?

I like low rates for landing myself it helps keep me from over "steering" when I get close to the ground. Especially in crosswind situations which seem to be most of the time. I've tried high rates and I seem to just get into trouble most of the time.

Greetings,

I too prefer to land on low rates however, there are times where I may flip just the elevator back to high rates to increase the sensitivity on heavier planes.

The big F-86 is an example of that. If I stay on low rates for the elevator during landing that brick of a 6-cell LiPo causes it to struggle on keeping the nose up when attempting to settle in.
The extra movement on the elevator helps as long as I remember not to over compensate!!
