EDF Flap or no Flap on Grass Runway?

With an EDF Jet with flaps, are the retracts better off not using flaps on landing on a grass runway? I think one of the reviews of the Intruder on MotionRC stated that Motion mentioned this to save the gear on landing. Anyone heard of this?

Flaps will add drag to the airframe to slow down the speed. The slower speed will result in the grass having less force against the retracts. So far, so good, but the issue comes in that most guys allow the sink rate to go up on the landing approach. Slamming down on the LG is not good be it on pavement or grass. Pavement is a little easier on the gear as the gear might skip off. But on grass, the grass tends to grab the gear putting a lot of strain on the gear mounts. The proper way to land, be it on grass or pavement, is to flair with the elevator and add power to arrest the sink rate.

So the short of this is, if flown properly flaps are an advantage in landing on grass. If flown improperly flaps will make the landing worse!
